" Words filter into our subconscious & tell stories about ourselves. For example, there are some words that absolutely are not helpful to us. The word "try" indicates that we are not really in control. If we say we will try to be on time, we will try to do a good job, etc., it's all very wishy-washy. "Try" doesn't really mean anything. Maybe we'll succeed, maybe we won't. We could take the word out entirely & our lives would have much more purpose -- i.e. "I will be on time" or "I will do a good job". Doesn't that feel better, & more decisive? As well as making us feel more powerful & in control of our own destiny, it also gives our mind a strong message, which is one of success. Another word which falls into this category is "can't". The word "can't" indicates that there is something in the way over which we have absolutely no sway. Why not replace it with "won't"? It is more honest! Instead of saying, "I can't clean the house", why not just say, "I won't clean the house"?! "
